Serbia has signed a $1.64 billion contract with Israeli defense company Elbit Systems, covering a period of five years. The agreement includes the delivery of long-range precision artillery and rocket systems, as well as unmanned aerial vehicles (drones).

In addition to the weaponry, the contract provides advanced ISTAR (Intelligence, Surveillance, Target Acquisition, and Reconnaissance) capabilities, systems for intelligence collection and processing, and night reconnaissance technology. Military analysts note that the deal is not only a significant military acquisition but also a strategic political move, as securing support from a foreign partner is seen as important amid Serbia’s current political and security challenges.
