It is estimated that the IT market reaches an annual growth of about 10%, and taking into account the complex circumstances and the global pandemic and the energy crisis, the sustainable growth of this sector can be seen as an extremely positive phenomenon, it was concluded during the presentation of the sixth edition of the comprehensive study entitled “ICT in Serbia – At a Glance”, it is stated on the website of the Provincial Government.
As pointed out, an increase in the number of employees in domestic and foreign-owned companies was recorded, while software exports will reach about 2.5 billion in 2022, which is the basis for easier forecasting and planning of export parameters in 2023, which is believed that in the next year it will exceed EUR 3 billion.
The pillars of the IT industry are small and medium-sized companies, and most of them in our country are software development companies, and they make up 70% of the total number of IT companies.
The edition, as stated on the website of the provincial government, deals with a systematic approach to information and communication technologies and the IT sector in the Republic of Serbia, as well as in AP Vojvodina, and is also the only study that has formed logical units in this growing field in this way.
Two years after the last edition, the team implementing this project documents all relevant data related to the domestic IT sector, which, according to the authors, is progressing with huge strides, becoming the number one export sector in the country and increasingly contributing to the national GDP, while entrepreneurship in in this growing domain, with notable investments in technological ideas and startups in Serbia.
Compared to numerous complex indicators of success and progress in the IT sector, the study is based on measurable goals that include money and people, and the authors point out that the positive side of this approach is simplicity and sustainability in terms of changes in this complex business environment.
The authors of the study are the Vojvodina ICT cluster and the company Mineco Computers, which has been collecting relevant data related to the IT sector for years, eKapija writes.
