The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, announced that the serial production of Fiat Panda electric cars will commence in Kragujevac during the third week of January 2025.
Vučić emphasized that this milestone would significantly contribute to the country’s GDP growth. He explained that while the first quarter of 2025 may face challenges due to a high baseline from 2024, the production of more than 100,000 vehicles could drive GDP growth to 4.2 or 4.3 percent for the year.
During his visit to the construction site of the new “Tiršova 2” children’s hospital in Belgrade, the president highlighted the broader impact this growth would have. “The key for Serbia in 2025 is maintaining peace and stability,” Vučić said. “I believe that Serbia will once again be the fastest-growing economy in Europe, which will translate into higher salaries, increased pensions, and a higher standard of living. We will also see more projects like this incredible new hospital for our children.”
The commencement of Fiat Panda electric car production is set to be a major milestone for Serbia’s automotive industry and its broader economic ambitions.
