Serbian Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management, Dragan Glamočić, announced in Aleksandrovac that the government will continue supporting vineyard owners and winemakers to further develop the sector. Speaking at the 60th Župa Grape Harvest festival, he highlighted the importance of this support in strengthening Serbia’s position in the international wine market.
Glamočić noted that viticulture and winemaking are key pillars of Serbian agriculture, with the Župa region—home to over 65 wineries and thousands of farms—playing a central role in preserving tradition and improving grape and wine production.
He added that more than 530 million dinars in grants were allocated to Aleksandrovac last year for new vineyards, equipment, production modernization, and marketing. The Župa Grape Harvest, held from September 11–14, was described as an important cultural, tourist, and economic event.
