The Republic of Serbia has secured financing from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) to cover the costs of railway modernization and plans to allocate part of these funds for payments related to a contract for train simulators. This project will also receive joint financing from the Agence Française de Développement (AFD).
As part of its digital transformation strategy, Srbijavoz intends to utilize train simulators for training train drivers and candidates in a controlled environment, according to eKapija. The goal of using these simulators is to significantly enhance the safety of railway operations by allowing personnel to undergo training that prepares them for handling unexpected and critical situations.
The procurement includes:
- A simulator replicating the Stadler Flirt Electric Multiple Unit (EMU) model, code number 413-0
- A simulator replicating the Stadler Flirt Electric Multiple Unit (EMU) model, code number 413-100
- A simulator replicating multiple Metrovagonmash diesel units
Interested parties must submit their offers by June 16, and the bidding process will be governed by the World Bank Procurement Guidelines.
