From October 1, 2025, electricity transmission and distribution prices in Serbia will increase, with transmission rising by 10 percent and distribution by 16 percent compared to 2021 rates. At the same time, the threshold for entering the higher “red” consumption zone will change from 1,600 kWh to 1,200 kWh per month. These changes will take effect with the new electricity prices, currently scheduled for October 1. Certain discounts for households with three-phase connections have also been extended until the end of 2026.

The Energy Agency of the Republic of Serbia approved these changes based on requests from “Elektromreža Srbije” and “Elektrodistribucija Srbije.” Transmission prices will increase by 10 percent compared to October 2021, while distribution prices, which cover the cost of delivering electricity to homes and businesses, will rise by 16 percent over the same period.

Certain household discounts will remain available until December 31, 2026, without requiring changes to their electrical connection. This allows households to continue benefiting from lower capacity billing, which helps reduce electricity costs.

The threshold between the “blue” and “red” consumption zones will drop from 1,600 kWh to 1,200 kWh per month. This means households will enter the more expensive “red” zone at lower consumption levels.

For households with a three-phase connection and approved capacity between 11.04 kW and 17.25 kW, reduced capacity billing may still apply, lowering bills. If monthly consumption does not exceed 350 kWh, billing will be calculated based on 6.90 kW.
