Dušan Bajatović, General Director of Srbijagas, announced that Serbia will finalize a new gas contract with Russia by May 31, increasing supplies to 2.5 billion cubic meters per year. He will visit Moscow next week for final negotiations, which are expected to last several days.

Bajatović confirmed that a favorable gas price linked to the oil formula has been negotiated, though the exact price will be disclosed later. He stressed that Serbia’s gas market will remain stable and non-speculative.

In addition to Russian supplies, Serbia will receive 2 million cubic meters from Azerbaijan and 2-3 million cubic meters from Hungary, with storage facilities soon to be operational there. This diverse supply mix ensures energy security through at least the next heating season.

Discussions continue on contract risk clauses, including payment issues. Bajatović reassured citizens that gas availability will be sufficient and no price hikes for households are planned. Industrial consumers will face prices adjusted to market conditions.

Despite sanctions, Serbia continues smooth payments to Russia and recently secured additional gas infrastructure assets without complications.
