In late 2024, Serbia Zijin Mining Bor and Sino-Zijin Resources from Beijing established a new company in Serbia, named Malka Golaja Mining d.o.o., which is registered in Zaječar.
According to the founding act, adopted on December 6, Serbia Zijin Mining holds 95% of the company’s shares, while Sino-Zijin Resources owns the remaining 5%. The company’s primary activity will be the exploitation of ores containing base, precious, and ferrous metals.
The company’s total registered capital is 120,000 dinars, and the director of the company is Yongding Su, a Chinese national.
Sino-Zijin Resources operates as a center for resource research, geological innovations, and the development of international expertise. Founded in August 2020 with an initial capital of 520 million yuan, Sino-Zijin Resources is a high-tech enterprise within the Zijin Mining Group, aiming to become a global leader in geological exploration.
This new enterprise in Serbia shares its name with the recently discovered copper and gold deposit, Malka Golaja, located 7 km southeast of the Čukaru Peki mine. As previously reported by eKapija, a significant copper and gold deposit was recently discovered at the Timok project. The Malka Golaja deposit is estimated to contain 2.81 million tons of copper at an average grade of 1.87% and 92 tons of gold with a grade of 0.61 g/t.
These estimates pertain to the total metal content within the ore body, which consists of approximately 150 million tons of mineralized material. Furthermore, the research indicates that the deposit is open at the periphery, suggesting potential for further resource expansion.
