Serbian companies make up a third of all fast-growing companies in the region

Among the TOP 1,000 companies in the Adriatic region, the majority are from Serbia (306), followed by Croatia (299) and Slovenia (223), with the fewest from Montenegro (49). The total revenue of these one thousand ranked companies in the previous year amounted to 12.9 billion euros.

The expansion of real estate purchases has led to construction of residential and non-residential buildings emerging as leading industries according to the Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR%) in the Adriatic region, and almost in all individual countries, as reported by Poslovne novine.

“Many consider real estate acquisition as the best way to protect against inflation. Thus, construction has taken precedence in rapid growth over once-leading industries such as road transport and computer programming,” the text adds.

Right behind this sector, there has been an enormous revenue growth in the region for travel agencies, hotels, and private accommodations. This can be interpreted as an increased growth in tourism following the stagnation of travel during the pandemic.

The economic momentum in the Adriatic region has led to accelerated growth in the real estate market, making the construction sector a leader among fast-growing industries.
