Serbian contractors generate 21.6 billion dinars in construction works abroad in 2024

Contractors from Serbia performed works abroad in 2024 valued at a total of 21,589 million dinars, according to the Republic Statistical Office (RZS). The largest share of construction activity by country was in Russia, accounting for 21.7% of the total value. This was closely followed by the Netherlands with 21.4%, Germany with 16.2%, Montenegro with 13.7%, and Uganda with 9.1%.

By building type, works on buildings amounted to 9,542 million dinars, representing 44.2% of the total value of works carried out abroad.

A total of 1,596 Serbian workers were employed abroad by domestic contractors in 2024. The countries with the highest number of Serbian workers included Germany, the Netherlands, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Croatia, and Russia. Overall, the largest volume of contracted works took place in Russia, followed by the Netherlands, Germany, Montenegro, Greece, and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
