The Fund for the Development of the Republic of Serbia, based in Niš, is seeking to improve communication with users by renting software services for a chatbot and a virtual assistant. They plan to spend about 15.9 million dinars (approximately 135,000 euros) for a one-year contract.

The fund currently employs 72 people across its headquarters in Niš and branches in Belgrade and Novi Pazar, but this staff size is insufficient to handle all citizen inquiries. To address this, they are turning to artificial intelligence.

The chatbot and virtual assistant are intended to automatically provide users with relevant information about the Development Fund and its programs. The goal is to make it easier and faster for users to access necessary information.

According to the tender’s technical specifications, the virtual assistant must use modern natural language processing (NLP) models to understand user questions and provide accurate responses. It should be capable of interacting through text and conversational formats, offering links to helpful resources online and suggesting multiple possible solutions.

Additionally, the chatbot should be able to communicate with other Fund systems to handle client requests effectively.

The public procurement is open until June 27.
