Serbian President to visit Italy today

Serbian President Boris Tadic will pay a one-day visit to Italy on Monday, during which he will confer with the representatives of the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region and Italian companies to discuss the possibilities of economic cooperation, the president’s cabinet told Tanjug.

Tadic will confer in Trieste with President of the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region Renzo Tondo, and then travel to Udine, where he will meet with Chairman of the Board of Directors of Danieli company Gianpietro Benedetti.

Danieli is one of the leading producers of equipment and production lines for the metal processing industry.

Tadic will confer in Treviso with President of the Benetton company Luciano Benetton.

Benetton has been present in Serbia since May 2011, when it purchased the Nitex textile factory in Nis in for EUR 3 million.
In November 2009, Serbian and Italian Prime Ministers signed a Declaration on Strategic Cooperation.
