Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić announced that a retail chain has failed to comply with the government decree on reducing trade margins and will face consequences.
Speaking on Prva TV, Vučić said the chain “will be brought to justice” and will be required to correct its violations and follow the state-imposed measures.
He noted that chains Delhaize and Lidl complied with the decree despite publicly criticizing it.
The decree, effective September 1 for six months, caps retail margins at 20% for products in 23 categories. Vučić also announced that the Belgrade-Subotica railway will open in September.
