Serbian startup companies showcased their innovations at Expand North Star, the world’s largest event for startups and investors, held in Dubai from October 12–15 as part of the Gitex Global tech expo. Over three days, more than 20 Serbian startups presented solutions across AI, fintech, healthtech, edtech, cybersecurity, e-commerce, climate tech, agritech, gaming, blockchain, and Web3.
During the conference, Serbian startups held over 800 meetings with potential partners and investors, including global figures like Hazleen Ahmad and UK-based BGV (Bethnal Green Ventures). Deals were signed with companies from India and South Korea.
Notable achievements include:
- Reputeo, which won an award in cybersecurity and developed the world’s first AI SOC analyst.
- Baby FM, which created a real-time temperature monitoring solution and reached the Supernova Challenge semifinals.
- EWD Technology, which developed a device to eliminate weeds without chemicals, attracting interest from Asian markets.
Nebojša Bjelotomić, advisor to the President of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce for Innovation and IT, highlighted that the event allowed startups to enter new markets, connect with investors, and showcase their solutions to global players.
Expand North Star 2025 brought together over 2,000 startups from 100+ countries, nearly 1,000 investors, and numerous exhibitors and speakers, positioning Serbian startups as innovators on the global stage.
