Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Adrijana Mesarović met with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) delegation led by Annette Kjobe to discuss Serbia’s current economic developments, achievements, and upcoming policy priorities. She emphasized that Serbia’s main goals are to preserve the current economic environment, maintain and increase employment, strengthen the domestic industry and its capacities, and continue attracting foreign direct investments.

Mesarović highlighted that, thanks to responsible state economic policies and the leadership of President Aleksandar Vučić, Serbia is on the right path toward further economic consolidation, growth, and development. Despite internal and global challenges, Serbia is expected to become one of the fastest-growing economies in Europe in the near future.

The minister underlined the importance of foreign direct investments, which reached five billion euros last year, noting that global companies recognize Serbia as a country with a favorable business climate. She attributed this success to the wise policies of the government and President Vučić.

The ministry continues to implement reforms aimed at improving the investment climate, supporting entrepreneurship, and further strengthening the economy, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy concluded.
