Serbia’s employment declines slightly in Q3 2025, public sector posts 0.3% drop

According to the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia, the country had 2,365,745 employed persons in the third quarter of 2025, a decrease of 4,358, or 0.2%, compared to the previous quarter.

Of the total, 1,893,202 were employed in legal entities, 427,580 were entrepreneurs or self-employed individuals, and 44,963 were registered individual farmers.

Employment in the public sector stood at 610,015, marking a 0.3% decline compared to the second quarter.

Year-on-year, compared to Q3 2024, total employment increased by only 73 people. Employment in legal entities fell by 3,098 (0.2%), while the number of entrepreneurs and self-employed workers rose by 7,127 (1.7%). The number of registered individual farmers dropped by 3,956 (8.1%).
