Serbia’s total foreign trade turnover for the period of January-February 2025 amounted to EUR 11.1 billion, representing a 4.7% increase compared to the same period last year, according to the Republic Statistical Office. Exports totaled EUR 4.6 billion, a 0.6% decline compared to the same period in the previous year, while imports amounted to EUR 6.4 billion, showing a 9% increase from last year.
The trade deficit for this period was EUR 1.7 billion, an increase of 47.0% compared to the same period last year.
The coverage of imports by exports stood at 72.7%, which was lower than the 79.8% coverage recorded in the same period of the previous year.
The highest foreign trade turnover was with countries with which Serbia has signed free trade agreements. European Union member states accounted for 56.1% of the total exchange.
Our second most important trade partner is the CEFTA countries, with which Serbia recorded a trade surplus of EUR 459 million, primarily driven by exports of electricity, cereals and their products, oil and petroleum products, medical and pharmaceutical products, and beverages. Exports in this period amounted to EUR 717.8 million, while imports reached EUR 258.7 million, resulting in a coverage of imports by exports of 277.5%.
