Serbia’s H1 foreign trade gap shrinks 6.6% y/y

Serbia’s first-half foreign trade deficit narrowed by 6.6% on the year to 1.93 billion euro ($2.16 billion), statistic office data showed on Friday.

The country’s exports rose 10.2% on the year to 6.58 billion euro, while imports grew 5.8% to 8.51 billion euro, the data indicated.

In June alone, exports increased by an annual 8.4% to 1.19 billion euro, while imports climbed 9.8% to 1.61 billion euro.

Serbia’s main export markets in the first half were Italy and Germany with $1.2 billion and $979.8 million worth of exports, respectively, while most imports came from Germany ($1.2 billion), Italy ($1.0 billion), Russia ($796.3 million), and China ($773.6 million).
