Serbia’s railway construction Stara Pazova–Novi Sad to start by early 2018

Serbia’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Zorana Mihajlovic attended the signing of the Agreement on preparation of the Main project of reconstruction and construction of the two-track railway Stara Pazova–Novi Sad. The agreement was signed in the Serbian government by CEO of the CIP Institute of Transport Milutin Ignjatovic and CEO of RZD International d.o.o Sergey Pavlov.

Mihajlovic underlined that the main project should be completed in June 2015, followed by four months of testing, after which the construction will start which should last 30 months.

She stated that the deadline for the completion of the railway line is the beginning of 2018, and stressed that the value of the elaboration of the project is $9 million, and the value of the entire investment is $450 million.

Ignjatovic stated that this project is very important not only for the Serbian Railways, but also for the whole country because this will be the first railway in Serbia and the region designed for speeds of 200 kilometres per hour.

He explained that the trip from Belgrade to Serbia on this railway will last 30 to 40 minutes.

Pavlov said that the works will be done very well and on time, with the use of the most advanced railway technology reports the Government.
