Serbia’s villages have been waiting a long time to be discovered, and now is the time for us to say – Yes, we want to get to know them. Their offerings are undoubtedly a chance for a tourism boom in Serbia”, said Milan Krkobabić, the Minister for Rural Affairs, at the 46th International Tourism Fair.

“Now we have good roads, making travel easy, the nature is beautiful, and the offerings of these households, from accommodation to local gastronomic specialties unique to each part of Serbia, are exceptional. On top of that, the prices are very reasonable, and the dedication and hospitality of these hardworking hosts are a special highlight. It is also important to mention the already traditional event ‘Miholjski Village Meetings,’ held for four consecutive years in 363 villages, with tens of thousands of participants and hundreds of thousands of visitors. Rural tourism is slowly but surely becoming a key element of Serbia’s overall tourism offer,” Krkobabić concluded.

The gates of the Belgrade Fair will remain open to visitors until February 23, featuring a rich exhibition program with over 400 domestic and international exhibitors. Visitors can look forward to a wide range of popular local and global destinations with increasingly diverse tourist offerings and accommodation capacities.
