Signed contract for the construction of the Sopot loop on the East arm

The contract for the construction of the “Sopot” loop on the eastern arm of Corridor 10 was signed today at the premises of the Corridor of Serbia, the company said.
The agreement was signed between Corridor of Serbia as an investor and contractor of Integral Engineering.
After the construction of the east arm of Corridor 10, the E-80 highway, the existing link between state roads II A of the Knjazevac-Temska-Dimitrovgrad and Nis-Pirot lines had to be discontinued, the statement said.
“Corridors of Serbia, in accordance with the requirements of the residents of 17 villages in the vicinity of Pirot and local self-government, have prepared project documentation, secured funds from savings under the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development Loan and conducted public procurement for the construction of the connection of the said state roads, at the same place after construction of the highway between them”.
The construction of the Sopot loop will relieve the Pirot West loop zone, as part of the local and transit traffic will use this connection, they say from the Corridors.
In addition to the advantages for the local population (access to estates on the left side of Nisava), it is said that the shortest and fastest connection between Bela Palanka and Pirot with the Stara Planina Nature Park, Temska Monastery, Knjazevac is given, it gives impetus to tourism development and general progress of the mountain villages and gravitational parts of Eastern Serbia.
The project documentation envisages the construction of two three-lane intersections with a leveling road intersecting the E80 highway.
The length of the outrigger is 104.9 meters, the length of the traffic connection is 362 meters, and the value of the works is 2.179.164 euros, while the deadline for completion is one year, Dnevnik reports.
