The General Manager of Telekom Serbia, Vladimir Lucic, stated today that some strong world telecommunication companies are interested in cooperation with Telekom, which is close to an agreement, and announced the signing of a partnership agreement with one of the strongest telecommunication players.
Lucic, as a guest on TV K1, said that he could not “discover the tickets” yet and announced which company it was.
“I think we are close to an agreement, not to reveal all the tickets, with one of the strongest telecommunication partners. The signing of the contract is nearing the end,” said Lucic.
When asked who is interested in cooperation with Telekom and what that means, Lucic said that Telekom is contacted by some large global companies, such as Telefonika and Vodafone.
“They are trying to create partnerships with us, because they recognize us as leaders in the region, to share ideas, services and be our partners with us, who would take a certain number of services from us and give us a certain number of services,” Lucic said.
This, he adds, will mean that Telekom will be able to expand through these partners to the countries where they provide their service.
“We are looking for partners in strong telecommunications companies that would help us expand to the countries of the EU, America and Canada, in order to take that part of the diaspora and the market for us,” Lucic pointed out.
When it comes to what the Telekom project for the diaspora in Austria, Germany, Switzerland, America and Canada means, Lucic says that the plan of that company is to be a mobile operator there as well, as here.
“But here we have our network, and in these countries we rent a network of other operators. We want to be a mobile operator and internet provider, as well as to offer TV services, primarily to users of our diaspora. However, when you come, for example, to the German market, no one is stopping you from going to another part of the market. That can increase the income and strength of our company many times over,” Lucic pointed out.
Commenting on the fact that he became a member of the Forbes Business Council, Lucic said that it is a business social network that brings together successful directors and owners of companies around the world.
“There are thousands of people in question, I am the first from the region in that council,” said the head of Telekom Serbia, adding that membership in that body will be a good opportunity for business contacts and opportunities for Telekom.
Telekom, he adds, has big plans for business expansion in Europe and America, due to the Serbian diaspora, through the export of software that will be made within the Fund for financing startup ideas, but also through the export of series.
He emphasized that his participation in the Forbes Business Council is a good opportunity for Telekom to create new business opportunities and promote Serbia.
“This business council is entered only with an invitation. They do not explain the reasons, but first ask for certain references. After the check, I was accepted and I can help my company and the country. I will have the opportunity to write articles for Forbes,” Lucic stated.
He also says that the future of all telecommunication companies is in the Internet, because fast and quality internet will be increasingly sought after.
Asked whether Telekom plans to take over another smaller cable operator, Lucic said:
“So far, we have acquired and merged 19 cable operators, so we will continue, it is normal on the market, for small players to merge with big ones. This is a trend in the world as well,” Dnevnik reports.
