Spain confirms participation in Expo 2027 Belgrade

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Sinisa Mali announced that Spain has officially confirmed its participation in the International Specialized Exhibition Expo 2027, which will be held in Belgrade. The confirmation came directly from the Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez in a letter addressed to Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić.

In his letter, Prime Minister Sanchez highlighted Spain’s commitment to contributing to the success of Expo 2027 by sharing its experience in organizing international events and showcasing its rich cultural heritage. He expressed eagerness to collaborate closely with the Serbian government and the organizing committee to ensure Spain’s participation reflects both creativity and the strengthening of bilateral ties.

Mali emphasized the significance of Expo 2027 for Serbia’s economic development and improving citizens’ quality of life, calling it a crucial project for the country. He also noted that participation confirmations have been received from countries across Europe, Asia, America, Africa, and Oceania, surpassing the 117 countries at the previous specialized exhibition in Astana, Kazakhstan.

Expo 2027 Belgrade is scheduled to run from May 15 to August 15, 2027, spanning 93 days. It will be the first international exhibition hosted in the Western Balkans and the largest global event ever organized by Serbia.

The exhibition’s theme is “Game(s) for humanity: sports and music for all,” with sub-themes focusing on the power of games, unity through play, and progress through gaming.
