Srbijagas General Director Dušan Bajatović stated that he expects an answer tomorrow regarding the postponement of sanctions on NIS, noting that the conditions for extending the company’s operations are currently more favorable than during the previous request.

At the end of July, the United States postponed, for the fifth time, the full implementation of sanctions against NIS until August 27.

Bajatović emphasized that Serbia will have sufficient gas supplies at favorable prices, while warning that Europe’s plan to completely phase out Russian gas by 2027 is unlikely to fully materialize. He also highlighted the technical limitations, stating that Serbia cannot currently be supplied from other regional sources such as Southeast Europe, Hungary, Slovakia, Turkey, Bulgaria, or Greece.
