Three Serbian startups B-Fresh, ServerBytes and Glober are the winners of the online competition Serbia to China, so they will offer the huge Chinese market innovative software solutions and a “formula” for extending the freshness of food.
With the support of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce (SCC) and Chinese partners, they were given the opportunity to connect with investors and financial advisors, create and sell innovative products in China and continue further growth and development.
Due to the pandemic, it will first open a virtual office within Nihub, a Chinese accelerator and innovation center for startups from abroad, and receive free financial advice.
– As China is the world’s largest exporter of games, this is an opportunity to expand our business – says Dejan Dimcic, co-founder of a company that helps developers and companies to develop their games faster using only one backend platform. – In addition to the logistical support of Nihub, it is also important to connect with major players in the field of game development and potential investors in the gaming industry. Competitions, as well as any opportunity to present startups, are an important period in development. It is a chance for the world to get acquainted with the product, to get valid reviews and to make new connections and partnerships – Dimcic explains.
Once the conditions for travel are met and the corona virus is brought under control, representatives of the three startups will travel to Nihub’s headquarters in Hangzhou, where they can use the business premises in the accelerator for free for a year.
B-Fresh Technologies provides innovative solutions to extend the freshness of food, thus solving the problem of food waste.
We hope that we will be able to establish contacts with investors, start production in China and find partners for licensing our technology – says Zorica Brankovic, director of B-Fresh Technologies. – Our products are biopolymer emulsions with antimicrobial and antioxidant properties that double the shelf life of food.
Glober does not hide its satisfaction and great expectations from the cooperation with the Chinese Innovation Center.
– Our startup provides a platform for strategic and operational management of sales networks of companies in sectors such as banking and trade – explains Jelena Petkovic, director at Glober.
Domestic startups recognize the problems on the global market and offer universal and quality solutions, points out Jelena Grubor Stefanovic, director of the PKS Representative Office in Shanghai.
– The Chinese government has introduced incentive measures and determined significant funds for investment in entrepreneurship, innovation and high technologies – says Grubor Stefanovic. – The PKS office in Shanghai recognized that as a great chance to connect our innovative companies with partners in China. Serbia has good startups and the potential to successfully place itself on the global technological map, even in the second largest economy in the world.
Lucas Rondez, CEO of Nihub, says they are very interested in innovation in Serbia.
– Although we are physically very far away, there is no distance because we speak the same language of innovation. We discovered that Serbia has developed high technologies, excellent companies and an innovative way of thinking. This is just the beginning of a great cooperation – says Rondez. – We are glad that Serbian companies will come to China, and we are looking forward to the departure of the Chinese delegation to Serbia, Novosti reports.
