Macedonian retail chain Stokomak is set to open its first store in Serbia within the next few weeks. The chain operates on a hard-discount model with a limited selection and affordable prices. Initially, Stokomak plans to open 10 stores, with a goal of expanding to 100 locations in the future.

The first store will open in Pirot, followed by locations in Niš, Leskovac, and Paraćin, with the first opening expected in late March or early April. Stokomak aims to provide consumers with a pleasant shopping experience in stores over 500 square meters, offering a mix of well-known global brands and their own private labels, at competitive prices.

The product range will include around 1,200 carefully selected items, including both branded products and their own high-quality private labels, which will be up to 50% cheaper than branded items of similar quality. In addition to food products, Stokomak will offer a selection of non-food items such as textiles, kitchen appliances, garden supplies, toys, and furniture.

Stokomak plans to create approximately 150 new jobs in Serbia for various roles, including retail staff and positions at their Niš headquarters. The company emphasizes team-oriented employees who are responsible and committed to delivering results.

Regarding pricing, Stokomak will focus on offering high-quality products at the best prices on the market by minimizing operational costs. The company has already reached out to local suppliers in Serbia and plans to source 70% of their products from Serbia and Macedonia.

In the long term, Stokomak aims to expand further across Serbia, with a goal of opening 50 stores within five years, eventually reaching 100 locations.
