Telekom Srbija has officially completed the acquisition of Total TV, significantly expanding its market presence and adding over 300,000 new users, the company’s General Director, Vladimir Lučić, confirmed. This acquisition strengthens Telekom Srbija’s position in the market and allows the company to expand its satellite user base.
As part of the integration, Total TV users will have access to the same programming as Telekom’s satellite users. To facilitate the transition, Total TV service will be offered for free throughout April.
With this acquisition, Telekom Srbija now serves more than half a million satellite users across Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and North Macedonia. The company has experienced remarkable growth, increasing its market share in Serbia from 20% in 2018 to 62% today. Lučić highlighted that the company’s user base has expanded nearly fourfold, from 400,000 television users to over 1.5 million.
The company’s success is attributed to several strategic decisions, including its investment in optical network infrastructure. By offering optical services wholesale to competitors, Telekom Srbija has enabled its rivals to utilize its network, while maintaining control over the content and monetizing its services.
A major contributor to the company’s increased revenue has been the Arena Sport channel, which has grown into a nationwide channel and the only sports channel available in the Western Balkans. Lučić pointed out that even during major sports events, such as on April 2, Arena Sport was accessible to all viewers, regardless of their cable operator.
Furthermore, Telekom Srbija’s acquisition of Net TV has strengthened its position in the diaspora market, adding around 90,000 new users from Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. This brings the total number of mobile and television users in the diaspora to nearly 400,000.
With the completion of the Total TV acquisition, Telekom Srbija now fully owns and operates all satellite services, including Direct-to-Home (DTH) offerings. The purchase of Total TV, previously owned by United Group, was finalized on April 2, 2025.
