The traffic on the high-speed railway between Belgrade and Novi Sad should be fully operational by February 2022, said the Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Tomislav Momirovic, adding that the works will be completed “within the scheduled time”, the ministry said.

– We managed to integrate all the intelligence and engineering strength we have in this project and we are approaching the very end of the Belgrade-Novi Sad high-speed railway as the first part of the future corridor from Belgrade to Budapest – Momirovic said during a tour of the Zemun railway station.

Momirovic talked with the manager of the expert supervision project, Janko Kovljenic, about the current situation in the construction of this section.

Kovljenic stated that the railway is divided into two segments – one part from Belgrade to Batajnica which will be in two tracks for lower speeds, and the other from Batajnica to Nova Pazova with four tracks, two of which will be used for high-speed railways to Novi Sad.

– In this part from Belgrade Center to Batajnica, the works are 95% completed and we expect very soon the final works on the release of the right track into traffic. The station buildings are in the function of work and they are about 70% finished, and on this whole stretch we have four large overpasses on which work is being done intensively and there are no planned delays in the realization – said Kovljenic, eKapija reports.
