Serbia will sign an agreement with representatives of the World Economic Forum in Geneva on Monday to open the Center for the Fourth Industrial Revolution in Belgrade.
As the Prime Minister of Serbia, Ana Brnabić, announced, the center will start working on March 1.
“It is a great recognition for everything we have done in that field and a recognition for our science, creativity and knowledge,” said the Prime Minister of Serbia.
“That center will be connected with about twenty similar centers that the World Economic Forum has in the world,” she added.
Brnabić stated for Tanjug that it is a great “wind behind” all the plans that Serbia has in the areas of development of artificial intelligence, biotechnology, bioeconomy, biomedicine and bioinformatics.
The center of the World Economic Forum for the fourth industrial revolution in Belgrade will be the first of its kind in the Western Balkans region, and the 16th in the world.
Brnabic will have a bilateral meeting with the founder and executive director of the World Economic Forum in Geneva, Klaus Schwab, and President Borg Brende.
On behalf of the Government of Serbia, the agreement will be signed by the Director of the Office for IT and Electronic Administration, Mihailo Jovanović, in the presence of the Prime Minister Ana Brnabić and officials of the World Economic Forum.
The focus of the Center’s work will be on artificial intelligence and bioengineering, Sputnik reports.
