“Azerbaijan is one of the potential partners for our country for both of these energy sources,” he said and assessed that the visit to Azerbaijan was very important, and that the meetings with the Minister of Economy and the Minister of Energy of Azerbaijan were good and constructive.

“We talked about Serbia becoming part of the Southern Gas Corridor, which is very important for us and which should diversify the way we supply gas to our country. We talked about building a new gas power plant as part of increasing the capacity of our energy system in Serbia, which will be the subject of discussions in the coming weeks,” Mali told Tanjug.

He pointed out that when it comes to electricity, their green corridor is important, the cable that goes under the Black Sea that should supply electricity to Romania and Hungary.

He states that a large number of investors in Serbia demand that the electricity they use be produced from renewable energy sources, which is why the issue has become part of the package being discussed in Azerbaijan.

Minister Mali reminded that we have started the process of restructuring our energy system, to define the strategy of our energy development for the next 30 years, with the idea of ​​having more renewable sources than now.

“This is very important for us. Azerbaijan will play a big role in this. It is important for us to diversify the number of partners we work with,” Mali said.
