The Electric Power Industry of Serbia (EPS) has no plans to increase the price of electricity, said the acting director of that company, Milorad Grcic.
Milorad Grcic stated that EPS is fully prepared for this winter season and that the most important thing is that Serbia will have electricity during the global energy crisis.
“Many decisions and moves of EPS today turn out to be justified. Serbia is electrically independent of external factors, thanks to President Aleksandar Vucic,” Grcic said.
He added that our country has security in the next few years when it comes to electricity.
Grcic said that the goal is for the production capacities of EPS to be fully harmonized with EU regulations in 2027.
As he said, EPS has been obliged to operate on the open market since 2014 and is one of 63 licensed sellers.
“We are obliged to adhere to the Law on Energy and monitor the movements on the stock exchange. We must not dump prices, and the Serbian economy must be maintained, and it has set off on a serious upward trajectory,” Grcic said.
He stated that from 2016 until today, the consumption of electricity in Serbia for the economy has jumped by 13 percent, RTS reports.
