The electricity system in Serbia is still not completely stable

The energy situation in Serbia is still not completely stable, but the number of households that were left without electricity due to bad weather is decreasing, it was said last night at the session of the Working Group for Monitoring Security of Energy and Energy Supply, chaired by Minister of Mining and Energy Zorana Mihajlovic.
It was announced at the session that the capacities of energy production in the Nikola Tesla thermal power plant have been increased and most of the blocks are in the system.
Coal production, necessary additional quantities of energy and plans for the period until the end of the year and until the end of the winter season were also discussed.
It was said at the session that the condition of the transmission system is stable, that all elements are in function, and that the import of electricity has been drastically reduced compared to the previous days.
300 users are without electricity and, as said by Elektrodistribucija Srbije, according to information from the field, the elimination of all faults caused by bad weather conditions will be completed during the night, while all planned shutdowns have been suspended until Monday.
At the session, conclusions were adopted on the formation of an operational team for establishing the facts related to the situation in the PE EPS.
The meeting of the Special Working Group for Monitoring Security of Energy and Energy Supply, in addition to representatives of the Ministry of Mining and Energy, was attended by representatives of the Energy Agency, PE “Srbijagas”, Elektroprivreda Srbije, AD “Elektromreze Srbije”, Elektrodistribucija, Naftna industrija Srbije ad, “Heating Plants of Serbia”, Public Utility Company “Belgrade Power Plants”, Belgrade, Nova reports.
