The goverment of Serbia announced this year’s growth of gross domestic product by 4.5 percent

Gross domestic product (GDP) growth of 4.5% is planned for this year, it was said at the session of the Council for Coordination of Activities and Measures for GDP Growth.

At the session, the plans for this year were discussed and the results achieved in the previous year in the economic areas that affect GDP were analyzed, the Government of Serbia announced.

It was stated that since November 2021, there has been an increase in salaries, both nominal and real, with the expectation that this strong trend will continue in the current year. The average salary in that month reached 588 EUR (in dinar equivalent).

Positive trends have also been observed in the industry, especially in the processing and food industries, which is particularly encouraging given that the sector has been stagnant for some time.

– In the field of infrastructure and construction, the implementation of ongoing projects is planned, a tender is expected for the construction of a control tower at the airport in Nis, the construction of the Preljina-Pozega highway, the Belgrade bypass continues, and documentation for the Uzice bypass has been prepared. construction of the Kadinjača tunnel – the Government states.

Also, a number of projects from the line infrastructure whose preparation is nearing completion were considered, such as the Belgrade-Zrenjanin-Novi Sad highway, the continuation of the construction of the highway on Corridor 11, towards the border with Montenegro to Duga Poljana, and the start of works on the construction of the gas interconnector Serbia-Bulgaria, which is planned for the beginning of February.
