The Government of Serbia adopted the Industrial Policy Strategy of the Republic of Serbia from 2021 to 2030, which contains comprehensive reform steps in the field of industrial development, aimed at enhancing the competitiveness of domestic industry that will make a significant contribution to high sustainable economic growth, measured by the growth rate GDP and better quality of life for citizens, the Serbian government announced.
The statement said that the implementation of the Strategy “will raise the technological level of the industry and its transformation in the direction of digitalization and automation, increase the contribution of research and innovation solutions, as well as the overall volume of investments in the industry while ensuring a balance in the structure and quality of investments”.
At the session, the Strategy for the Advancement of the Position of Persons with Disabilities for the period from 2020 to 2024 was adopted, and the implementation of these measures will improve the general position of persons with disabilities and their equal participation in society by removing obstacles in all areas contributing to the achievement of inclusive equality.
Government members adopt a decree on conditions and manner of allocation and use of funds for stimulating organized tourist traffic of foreign tourists, in order to increase foreign exchange inflow and to position Serbia as a recognizable and attractive tourist destination, while at the same time domestic agencies have been granted the status of main organizers of travel for the countries of the region.
The implementation of this regulation, which has been allocated funds in the amount of 66.000 euros, stimulates the stay of foreign tourists and influences the prolongation of their average number of nights.
At the session, the Regulation on establishing the Program for the use of the funds of the Budget Fund for financing activities and measures for the improvement and development of the field of electronic communications and information society in 2020 was adopted.
This regulation provides for the construction of broadband communication infrastructure in the so-called “white zones”, in order to provide incentives for the state to connect to at least 600 schools, ie public institutions, local communities and other facilities of republican and local governments and approximately 90,000 households.
The competent ministry will launch public calls for participation of operators in the joint construction of broadband communication infrastructure in rural areas of Serbia, and incentive measures of almost 20 thousand euros are intended for the construction of information infrastructure, which will enable a balanced regional development, better connect economic regions and provide increased use of new technologies and innovations in business and education.
The regulation establishing the Program for the Promotion and Popularization of Innovation and Innovation Entrepreneurship for 2020 was adopted at today’s session in order to inform the public, as well as the university, academic, scientific-research and business community, and especially young people about the Government’s systematic measures Serbia whose goal is the development of technological and social innovations, innovative eco systems, entrepreneurship and infrastructure.
600.000 euros has been earmarked for this purpose, to encourage citizens to think in an entrepreneurial way and to encourage them to set up their innovation and technology startup companies to a greater extent.
The Government of Serbia has provided a total of 850 thousand euros for the systematic improvement of innovative entrepreneurship among women at the national and local levels, through the Program of Support to the Development and Promotion of Women’s Innovative Entrepreneurship for 2020.
These funds are intended to create conditions for changing the business environment, so that women and women entrepreneurs appear more as founders, owners or shareholders of businesses in the work of companies and entrepreneurs, and the ultimate goal is to increase awareness of the importance of women’s innovation entrepreneurship, to be better informed about government measures which are to support this entrepreneurship and to achieve a greater role for women entrepreneurs in the labor market, through the development of their businesses, the employment of more people and the achievement of greater and sustainable income, reports Novi Magazin.
