– New opportunities for young people to work and stay in their country, as well as providing an easier and more efficient way to exercise the rights of citizens, are at the top of the Ministry’s priorities in the coming period – said Minister of Labor, Employment, Veterans and Social Affairs Zoran Djordjevic after 97 regular sessions of the Social and Economic Council.
According to the Minister, regardless of the fact that the country is in a difficult situation caused by the coronavirus epidemic, which the whole world is struggling with, a constructive dialogue was held between the members of the SES.
-The ministry I head will continue to work on achieving better communication with citizens, and we will achieve this by easily enabling employers and workers to be clearly informed about their rights in the field of work during the epidemic, as well as how to exercise them – said Djordjevic.
The Minister reminded that there is already a special section on the website of the Ministry where workers can check their current employment status and everything that belongs to them according to the Labor Law, and that if they find that certain rights have been denied, they report it to the Labor Inspectorate.
As he stated, in addition, the process of electronic document management and e-offices is coming to an end, and the Ministry will work on submitting as many different requests as possible electronically, so that citizens do not have to spend time on arrival but to be informed about everything through the site, and in the same way to submit applications electronically.
Djordjevic stated that in the next period, the reorganization of the National Employment Service is also planned, which should be carried out on September 1, in cooperation with the World Bank.
-The emphasis will be on young people, providing opportunities for those who are finishing their studies, have completed or are still studying. The state takes care of young people and our goal is to provide them with the best conditions to stay in our country, do what they love and what they are competent for, and thus have the opportunity to start their own families in Serbia – said the Minister.
When it comes to further engagement of SES, Djordjevic pointed out that he would propose that the social partners to be included in the further work of the Crisis Staff, especially in the field of economy.
– The Government of Serbia will continue to monitor the situation in the economy, as well as the labor market. The ultimate goal is that in 2025, the average salary will be 900 euros, and the pension will be 440 euros, and we will not give up on that – Djordjevic concluded.
The conference was attended by the chairman of SES, the president of UGS “Nezavisnost” Zoran Stojiljkovic, the president of the Union of Employers of Serbia Milos Nenezic and the vice president of the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Serbia Dusko Vukovic, Srbija Danas reports.
