The Serbian government will soon decide whether Rio Tinto will operate in Serbia, Prime Minister Ana Brnabic said.
As the Prime Minister told reporters in Novi Sad, the decision on that will be made after consultations with President Aleksandar Vučić.
“We have no problem making a decision on Rio Tinto,” Brnabic pointed out, adding that she believes that Rio Tinto does not have to be in Serbia, and that there is no problem in saying that.
Earlier this month, the Prime Minister said that the Government of Serbia was close to the decision to revoke all permits given to Rio Tinto, and that it was only necessary to see “how big the guild is”, ie how much the interruptions of the agreement should be paid.
Even then, Brnabic stated that she had no problem with annulling the contracts with Rio Tinto, Biznis reports.
