The hotel industry is running out of workers

The hotel industry lacks between 4,000 and 5,000 workers, the arrival of foreign workers is imminent, but the problem is that they are slower to adapt because they are not used to the local culture and mentality, says Georgi Genov, director of the Association of Hoteliers and Caterers HORES.

He says that this problem is big and that it is necessary for the state to be involved in its resolution so that we do not lose our workforce in this industry.

He says for BIZLife that in addition to the lack of staff, the current geopolitical situation in this sector is also a problem, dictating the rise in prices, but that fortunately this is not yet reflected in the number of visits and overnight stays in Belgrade.

Genov states that at the beginning of 2020, there were 19,000 workers in hotels, and at the beginning of this year, there were only 9,500, BizLife reports.
