Serbia is the largest construction site in this part of Europe, and the Moravian Corridor is the most intensive construction site in Serbia, said today the Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure, Tomislav Momirovic, who visited the works on the bridge on South Morava with the director of the Serbian Corridor Aleksandar Antic.
“At the moment, out of 1,200 kilometers of highways and fast roads that we are building and designing, the most intensive works are being performed on the Moravian Corridor, where we have over 2,000 workers every day,” he said.
He added that this corridor is slowly entering the final zone of works from Pojat to Krusevac, and that works have been opened on the part from Adran to Mrcajevci.
“It is already clear to everyone that Serbia is the largest construction site in this part of Europe. Today, we practically do not have an unemployed construction worker, everyone can find a job on one of the 80,000 construction sites, as many as there are now active in Serbia,” he said, reports Tanjug.
He added that the route of the Moravian Corridor gravitates about half a million people, and the highway will enable the connection of Western Serbia with the region of central Serbia, ie Krusevac with Cacak.
The director of the Corridor Antic said that currently the Moravian Corridor is the largest construction site in Serbia with 2,265 employees, and 885 units of mechanization.
“The route in the part from Pojat to Krusevac is completely open, where we are working on 77 different construction sites. The most important are 10 bridges and 3 overpasses,” he said.
The Moravian Corridor will connect all major settlements in central Serbia between Pojat and Cacak – Cicevac, Stalac, Krusevac, Trstenik, Vrnjacka Banja, and Kraljevo, and will be the first digital highway in Serbia, Politika reports.
