The NBS has ordered the temporary revocation of the authorization of exchange offices

The National Bank of Serbia has prescribed that for up to 30 days, the authorization of exchange offices that do not meet the conditions or act contrary to the provisions of the law or regulations of the NBS may be temporarily revoked.

The amendment to the Decision on closer conditions and the manner of exercising control over foreign exchange operations was made by the NBS on Tuesday, and today it was published in the Official Gazette and thus entered into force.

It states that the NBS in the control procedure can make a decision on the temporary revocation of the authorization of the exchange office at all exchange offices.

The exchange office is obliged to immediately display such a decision of the NBS in a visible place of all exchange offices.

If the NBS again determines the same type of irregularity after the expiration of the temporary revocation of the authorization, it shall issue a decision on the permanent revocation of the authorization to perform exchange operations, RTS reports.
