Modern digital Gazprom gas station on the Novi Sad-Belgrade highway.
The Minister of Mining and Energy in the Government of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Antic, the Mayor of Novi Sad, Milos Vucevic, and the General Director of NIS, Kiril Tjurdenjev, visited today the newly opened Gazprom gas station “Novi Sad 16” on the Novi Sad-Belgrade highway.
It is the most modern retail facility in the NIS network, built in accordance with the most modern technological, safety and environmental standards. The new gas station, in the construction and equipment of which more than 3 million euros were invested, has state-of-the-art digital technology, five “islands” with multifunctional automatic refueling machines, as well as a charger for electric cars. A total of 24 employees will be engaged in it.
Kiril Tyurdenev, General Director of NIS, said:
“We opened the most modern station in the country and provided our consumers with additional quality. This is an extremely important investment of over 3 million euros for us. We confirmed the importance of developing a retail network and investing in local communities. We have also shown that we have a successful strategy in very challenging times, of course, with the support of the line minister and the mayor of Novi Sad, for which I thank them.”
Milos Vucevic, the mayor of Novi Sad, expressed satisfaction that investments are continuing despite the specific circumstances due to the epidemic.
“Investing almost 3.3 million euros at this moment is something that is commendable and certainly instills hope that we will overcome the challenges we face, primarily the fight with Covid 19, but also invest in new jobs, in business. The city of Novi Sad and NIS are inextricably linked and we have traditionally good cooperation. NIS is one of the largest companies in the territory of the Republic of Serbia, it pays huge contributions to our budget, it has excellent communication with local communities through the “Communities Together” program, and I believe that we will continue to do so. This is the 11th gas station that was reconstructed by NIS on the territory of Novi Sad, in which 9 million euros were invested. That is really commendable and I believe that we will continue like that,” said Vucevic.
Aleksandar Antic, Minister of Mining and Energy, said:
“This is really a beautiful day for the Oil Industry of Serbia, a day in which we are launching one of the most modern gas stations in Serbia, a facility that we are all proud of and that will provide the highest level of services to all its customers from today. I would like to express my support for the fact that NIS has continued its investment policy in these complex circumstances. We are fighting hard to preserve our economy and keep our industrial production, and that is why such investments are extremely important and represent one of the key segments of our economic policy. In that sense, NIS makes a strong contribution to all that, and this gas station is an obvious proof. However, what is important for me is that NIS is completing its most significant investment, a plant for deep processing, an investment worth about 300 million euros, which will completely modernize production at the Pancevo Oil Refinery and represent a strong springboard for NIS’s future business. The fact that NIS will have a full range of new products and far better quality white derivatives imposes the need for NIS to continue strongly with the development of its retail network. We support the completion of the reconstruction of this gas station, but we also expect that NIS will develop its retail network even more strongly in the coming period and open a new gas station on the Milos Veliki highway. I am especially happy and satisfied that today we are bringing a new quality to this gas station, and it is one of the most modern electric chargers that we can use at this gas station from today. This shows that NIS recognizes other priorities of the Government of Serbia that are related to the highest level of environmental standard,” said Antic, Alo reports.
