– In recent years, a decline in carp production has been registered, and the crisis has deepened during the pandemic – they explain in PKS. – During the first wave of the corona virus, after the introduction of the state of emergency, the markets closed at the beginning of the Easter fast. Fish that were found in fish markets were transported to fishponds with high mortality. This disrupted the production cycle, and many large fishponds did not establish production.
As they point out, their Fisheries Group regularly sends an initiative to abolish the water contribution on all bases, which would contribute to the preservation of this branch of the economy. They state that this was done in the Czech Republic and Croatia, Novosti reports.
