For the first time in the history of the World Union Wholesale Market (WUWM), Serbia got its representative on the Board of Directors.
At the end of June in Florence, at the conference of that organization, the director of “Wholesale Market-Belgrade”, Natasa Putnik, was elected to that position.
The topic of this year’s conference was the distribution of fresh food in the world after the Covid-19 virus pandemic, and experts from a number of international organizations such as the United Nations and FAO spoke about the challenges, opportunities and ways, as well as ways to ensure resilient and sustainable food systems.
As it was announced, a Memorandum of Cooperation between the organizations WUWM and UN HABITAT was signed at the conference and an action plan for the implementation of the agreed activities was adopted.
The President of WUWM, Stefan Laiani, emphasized the special commitment of Natasa Putnik for the realization of this most important event in the conference program, and she was then appointed chairwoman in the group for Eastern Europe and Russia.
The joint action plan will primarily contribute to Serbia, the development of projects in the area of essential importance for the maintenance and encouragement of the community as the realization of numerous goals from the signed Memorandum, Danas reports.
