The Serbian government has earmarked 25 million euros for entrepreneurship incentives

Serbia’s budget for 2020 earmarks 25 million euros for entrepreneurship development projects, ie subsidies to public non-financial companies and organizations.
The set of regulations adopted at the last session of the Government of Serbia, exactly 17 million euros, is intended to support the procurement of new equipment for small and medium-sized enterprises in the current year.
The funds are intended to co-finance the purchase of production equipment or machines, handling equipment, construction machines, parts or specialized tools or machines for improving energy efficiency.
Equipment subject to the program may not be purchased from an individual unless the equipment vendor is an entrepreneur and must not be delivered or paid in part or in full before the date of the grant award decision.
Companies from the manufacturing sector that are not involved in the production of tobacco products, energy, steel, explosives, weapons or ammunition may apply for the competition.
In addition, companies for water or waste management, accommodation and nutrition, as well as professional and scientific activities or engineering may apply for the competition.
Co-financing is realized in the maximum amount of 25% of procurement of new production assets, not less than 4 thousand euros and not more than 40 thousand euros.
The business entity is obliged to provide participation in the amount of 5% of the net value of production equipment, while the remaining 70% of the net value of production equipment will be provided from loans from commercial banks or financial leasing of leasing companies involved in the implementation of this program.
An additional 7 million euros is intended to stimulate entrepreneurship through development projects, ie for the purchase, upgrade or adaptation of a production space or warehouse, permanent working capital or the purchase of software and computer equipment.
Business entities that meet the requirements of the Program may qualify for financial support of up to 20% of the grant from the investment investment value, or up to 30% of the grant for businesses belonging to the fourth development group.
The amount of these grants cannot be less than 500 euros for entrepreneurs, or 2 thousand euros for legal entities, nor more than 100 thousand euros for all economic entities.
Through this budget line, it is planned to subsidize companies with at least five employees and from 2015 to 2018 record an average annual growth of employees of 20% (incentives for fast-growing companies), as well as for companies that record a steady increase in used income in the same the period under review.
The remaining 1.2 million euros is earmarked for the implementation of the Entrepreneurship Incentive Program through financial support for start-ups in business in 2020.
Micro and small companies that have been registered with the Business Registers Agency for at least two years in relation to the year of application can apply for this competition, Nova Ekonomija reports.
