The President of the Council of the Energy Agency, Dejan Popovic, stated that the supply of electricity and all other energy sources is satisfactory and that there will certainly be no supply disruptions, primarily because the public company Elektroprivreda Srbije supplies more than 98% of consumers in Serbia.
“As far as I know, EPS has no problems in production and I think that it will fulfill its task this year as well. This is the best reminder of how important it is to preserve Serbia’s energy security and how important it is to preserve EPS,” said Popovic at the session of the Serbian Parliament’s Committee for Economy, Regional Development, Trade, Tourism and Energy, where Information on market prices and supply was discussed.
Popovic pointed out that the price of electricity has started to increase sharply on the electricity exchanges since July this year. He said that gas prices, which have increased enormously in the European Union, will not affect Serbia, at least until the expiration of the agreement with Russia.
“Thanks to the construction of the Gastrans stream, we have ensured long-term stability of gas supply. In the next 30 years, Serbia will not have problems with the lack of this energy source,” said Popovic, N1 reports.
