Economic relations between France and Serbia are constantly improving, and last year the trade exchange between the two countries exceeded one billion euros, said today the charge d’affaires of the French Embassy, Fatih Akcal, at a ceremony organized by the French-Serbian Chamber of Commerce (CHIFS) at the Hyatt Hotel.
Akcal thanked the French-Serbian business community for the constant work on strengthening these relations and expressed confidence that the soon arrival of the new French ambassador will further encourage bilateral exchange, because his priority will be to promote economic cooperation.
The new president of the French-Serbian Chamber of Commerce, Dragan Stokic, pointed out that the priority of that organization is comprehensive support to its members, but also the provision of operational assistance to all companies that want to work on the Serbian market.
He reminded that the efficiency of the Chamber was recognized by Korean, Chilean, as well as some American companies with which CHIFS worked.
During the ceremony, two Grand Prix awards in the field of socially responsible business and innovation were presented.
The first Grand Prix was won by the company Tiger Tires, which operates as part of the Michelin Group for a project called Grouving Tugeder intended for the local community in the fields of education, health, safety and the environment.
Tiger Tires invested more than 100,000 euros in this project last year, and since 2013 in various projects of that type over two million euros.
The second Grand Prix, in the field of innovation, was awarded to the startup Eko Bio Invest for the production of innovative material BioSol, similar to plastic in characteristics, but of organic and natural origin.
The material has been certified by European and American laboratories as non-toxic and biodegradable, Dnevnik reports.
