Today, Prime Minister of Serbia, Ana Brnabic talked with the new head of the World Bank in Serbia, Nikola Pontar, and his predecessor, Stephen Ndegwa, about the results achieved in the previous mandate and plans to continue implementing important projects, especially when it comes to the transition to a “green economy”.
The new head of the World Bank in Serbia said that he was looking forward to a new engagement and cooperation with the Government of Serbia, and that he would do everything necessary to fully implement the “Green Serbia” project, given that the World Bank supports the environmental sustainability of the economy and the country’s energy transition, which is also part of the European Union’s green agenda, the government’s Office for Media Co-operation said.
Ndegwa said that Serbia and the World Bank can do a lot together in that field. He also praised Serbia’s economic reforms and progress.
Prime Minister Brnabic thanked the outgoing head of the World Bank in Serbia for the cooperation so far and welcomed Pontar, emphasizing that she expects that the next cooperation program will be equally successful, RTV reports.
