The Minister of Finance, Sinisa Mali, said during a visit to businessmen in Vranje, Surdulica and Leskovac that the measures of the Government of Serbia to help the economy were timely and defined in the right way. The Minister claims that Serbia will be among the top 3 countries in Europe in terms of GDP in 2020.
Minister Mali used his stay in the south of Serbia to talk to businessmen, and as he says, he was convinced that the owners and directors of the company are satisfied with the economic measures implemented by the Government of the Republic of Serbia and that they did not dismiss their workers.
He visited the Vranje companies Ansal Steel, Simpo, the FOS boiler factory in Surdulica and PE Vlasinske powerplants in that city, and as it is written in the announcement, he made the businessmen happy by announcing a new employment program prepared by the Government of the Republic of Serbia. He assessed that the state proved to be a “factor of stability” in the situation with the elimination of the negative consequences of Covid-19.
According to him, there are no major economic difficulties, because the economy is slowly starting and opening, and the needs of dual education and providing a skilled workforce have been discussed with businessmen.
Through the 2025 program, the state plans to invest 100 million euros, adds Mali, both in the south and in the north of Serbia, and according to him, investments will be made in sewerage, water supply, health care institutions, kindergartens, schools and factories, wastewater treatment, highways, infrastructure, etc.
He says that Serbia achieved a growth of 5% in the first quarter, which, according to him, is much higher than the GDP of Croatia, whose growth was only 0.4 percent.
In addition to France, earlier forecasts that Serbia’s GDP will be in the red were made by the World Bank, the IMF, as well as the European Union.
Mali adds that 100 euros of aid was paid for about 5.5 million citizens, and that there are still 450,000 people left who will be paid by Friday, June 5 at the latest.
On that day, the application ends, and those who apply on the last day can, Mali explains, expect payment by Monday, June 8, Juzne Vesti reports.
