The public bidding for a part of Belgradjanka, which was scheduled for today, was canceled because there were no interested buyers, RTS has learned.
The city of Belgrade has offered for sale its part of the Belgrade Palace at a starting price of 20.6 million euros.
All natural and legal persons have the right to participate in the public bidding procedure, and a total of more than 19,000 square meters of business premises in this building have been offered.
The future buyer should perform construction and craft works on the adaptation and reconstruction of the facility within three years, with the obligation not to change the purpose of the building.
The city obliged the buyer to make a deposit of ten percent of the estimated value, which can be even higher, if more bidders appear in the tender.
Beogradjanka has long been a symbol of our city and was considered one of the most modern buildings in the Balkans. Today, it is making great losses and there is no need for citizens to pay for its maintenance.
Beogradjanka was built in the period from 1969 to 1974 according to the project of the architect Branko Pesic and is one of the most significant achievements of Belgrade architecture from the end of the 60s of the 20th century. With 23 floors, at that time, it represented the tallest building in Belgrade, B92 reports.
