Through incentives for investments in Serbia, jobs were provided for 9.5 thousand workers

The Ministry of Economy announced today that it provided jobs for 9,500 new workers in a year through 49 contracts on the allocation of incentive funds for inversions in the amount of 165 million euros, which opened new and expanded existing factories.
Through financial support programs for small and medium enterprises, in the same period, the Ministry of Economy provided investments of 95.7 million euros, while in 56 municipalities and cities across Serbia it implemented 76 infrastructure projects, the ministry said in a statement.
Through the programs of financial support to small and medium enterprises for starting and further development of business, as specified, until October this year, a total of 858 requests of economic entities were supported with 18.8 million euros of approved non-refundable funds.
It was also pointed out that the privatization portfolio of 556 companies, as many as were in the portfolio of the Privatization Agency in 2014, was reduced to 68 non-privatized companies this year.
In the previous year, a total of nine public calls for participation in the public bidding procedure with a public tender for the sale of capital / strategic partnership were published.
At the same time, in the previous year, sales contracts were concluded and successful transactions were conducted for the companies VPD Smederevo with a revenue of 661,000 euros and the Minel Concern with a revenue of 1.6 million euros.
It is also reminded that the Strategy of state ownership and management of business entities owned by Serbia for the period from 2021 to 2027 with the action plan was adopted. This was done for the first time in Serbia as a single act that provides a strategic vision and guidance on the objectives of ownership management of Serbian-owned entities, financial and public policy objectives, as well as corporate governance principles and supervisory practices in in accordance with international standards and best practices.
During the year of the Government’s work, the Ministry of Economy implemented two programs in order to implement infrastructure projects.
A total of 76 infrastructure projects were worked on in 56 local self-government units with a total value of 31.8 million euros, of which the participation of the Ministry of Economy in financing amounts to 19.3 million euros.
The implementation of 43 infrastructure projects has been completed, while other projects are mostly in the final stages of implementation.
At the suggestion of the Ministry of Economy, in April this year, the Government of Serbia adopted an action plan for the implementation of the Industrial Policy Strategy of Serbia from 2021 to 2030, which is a response to modern trends in the world economy and industry.
The intention, as indicated, is to create an effective well-coordinated industry development policy, with a special focus on the processes of digital transformation and green transition, as two key elements for the future sustainable development of the industry, Danas reports.
