The 20 largest Chinese companies operating in Serbia generated a record 865 billion dinars (€7.4 billion) in revenue and 123 billion dinars (€1 billion) in net profit in 2024, according to Forbes Serbia. Employment also rose, with 25,000 workers—2,000 more than the previous year.
The dominant player is Zijin, through Zijin Copper and Zijin Mining, accounting for nearly half of total revenue and 92% of net profit, generating 400 billion dinars in revenue and 113 billion in profit while employing over 7,000 people.
Other fast-growing companies include Mint, which doubled its revenues for three consecutive years, reaching a profit of 5.5 billion dinars in 2024, and Linglong from Zrenjanin, whose revenue quadrupled despite multi-year losses exceeding a billion dinars.
Infrastructure and construction firms, such as JCHX Kinsey Mining Construction, China Shandong International Economic & Technical Cooperation Group Ltd., and Power Construction Corporation of China, also saw significant growth. Their projects include the Belgrade-Zrenjanin-Novi Sad highway, Niš airport modernization, Belgrade bypass, National Football Stadium, Expo complex, and Belgrade Metro.
Overall, Chinese companies in Serbia continue to expand both financially and in workforce, reflecting sustained investment and increasing influence in the country’s economy.
